Faux Wood Grain

By Lee, January 18, 2015

Here’s a simple way to fake wood grain procedurally in Blender Cycles Renderer. The node setup is the same for both images, the only thing that’s different is the color of the wood.

I followed How to Texture a Treasure Chest in Blender from blender nation. I only have one criticism or suggestion, do not be like Andrew Price bashing blender all the time. (note: I like his triuotals) Personally I do not have stability issue with blender. I download the binary from blender.org and I run Gentoo Linux. I realized the importance save work work often, always a good practice. Peace.
